Continuing the "Hanging" theme of this band, here is another one. Features a neat organ line from Matt Wright and a cool fuzz solo from Don Blackstone. Not to mention the supple bass stylings, incredible vocals. And then there's the drumming.
As to the accompanying photo, I liked the hutzpah of the owners in light of the Mad Cow scare of a few years back. When I went in it was pretty empty.

"I Saw It" (demo) by Lubricated Goat

This is a 4-track cassette version of a song later to appear on the Psychedelicatessen lp. It was originally written for an aborted Salamander Jim album, which was another band Stu, Lachlan MacCleod and I were briefly in. This was recorded on the top floor at Gracelands and features Stu on guitar, bass and sampler along with Ren on sax and me playing drums.

Here is another leftover version of a track from the 120 cd's project. The voices on here are from some old 78's that people used to record themselves as letters to friends and relations back in the 1940's and '50's. In fact, you can hear one guy complaining that the recording machine doesn't work and he's going to take it back to the guy that sold it to him. I would dearly love to find one of these machines today.

Here is a trailer for a movie called "Calimari Union". The music is a track by Bloodloss called "Love Theme". The movie is by Richard LeFevre and is a recent remake of another older film also called "Calimari Union". This version seems to feature some familiar faces plus some that I don't know. Looks pretty "gritty".

Here is another leftover version of this piece. The voices are culled from a bootleg tape of the Altamont concert (obvious to some, maybe not to others). There's a lot more banter on the tape, both amongst the crowd and from the stage, but is usually accompanied by Stones music and therefore of no use to me.

Bloodloss "Soundtrack From the Musical 'Bloodloss'"

Here is side 2 of the Bloodloss 10" "Ten Rock Solid Inches Of Rock Solid Rock". I assume this will never be released on CD so here it is in the "MP3" format. This was all done with good old tape technology. I'm sure computer sound programs such as pro-tools were available at the time but we didn't have access to them. I doubt this would not have been as much fun to make if we had used them anyway.

Here is a song recorded live by Bloodloss. This is a soundboard recording from a not especially large venue and as such the drums and vocals tend to be the loudest things, neither of which were the strongest points of the band. But here it is anyway. The people in this band were Renestair EJ, Mark Arm, Guy Maddison and Martin Bland.

The Ecstasy Of Frank Thring by Martin Bland's Randomized Control Trials

Here's a version of new piece created in the RCT series for a radio broadcast on local Seattle radio station KEXP. The featured musicians are Tom Price (guitar), Dave Holmes (electric sitar), Guy Maddison (bass), Ajax Storm-Wood (voice) and Martin Bland (drums and synthesizer). The theme was written by Tom and is basically a D minor scale with an emphasis on half-tones. It uses repetition to create a structure, much like yer standard-issue rock song. You'll notice that the exact same guitar, bass, sitar and drums phrases reappear a couple of times throughout the number but always in different combinations and contexts.
